Real Madrid Officially Register Huijsen and Alexander-Arnold Ahead of Club World Cup
Real Madrid is wasting no time shaping their squad for the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Just three weeks after the close of the 2024/25 La Liga season, Los Blancos have completed the signings of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and both players are now officially registered with La Liga.
According to club and league sources, Real Madrid has successfully added both new arrivals to their domestic roster, well ahead of the new La Liga campaign and the Club World Cup matches in the United States.
Huijsen, the 20-year-old Dutch center-back, was acquired from AFC Bournemouth in a deal reportedly worth €58 million. Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, arrived on a free transfer after concluding his long spell at Liverpool. Despite being a free agent, Madrid paid compensation to Liverpool to finalize his early departure.

The pair have also been named in Real Madrid’s squad for the Club World Cup, which new head coach Xabi Alonso unveiled earlier today. Huijsen has already been assigned the No. 24 shirt, while Alexander-Arnold’s kit number is expected to be announced during his formal presentation tomorrow.
As confirmed on La Liga’s official website, both players are now officially registered, which signals that the club has faced no Financial Fair Play hurdles or bureaucratic delays. Unlike their league rival, such as Barcelona, who often struggle with registration challenges, Madrid moved quickly and efficiently to complete the process.
The addition of these two high-profile players demonstrates that Real Madrid intends to remain exceptional both domestically and internationally. The club is also expected to remain active in the transfer market over the coming weeks as preparations continue for a busy summer that includes a Club World Cup campaign in the U.S.
