The Calgary Flames are set to open their annual development camp this Wednesday at WinSport, offering fans a glimpse into what the future might look like for the franchise.
This year’s camp features 24 of the Flames’ top prospects, including their last four first-round draft picks: Zayne Parekh and Matvei Gridin from the 2024 class, along with Cole Reschny and Cullen Potter, both selected just last weekend. These players represent a key part of the team’s rebuilding plans as Calgary eyes a return to contention in the coming years.
The two-day event is designed to help players deepen their understanding of the organization and build on their physical and tactical development. According to the team, the camp is “focused on accelerating each player’s development through instruction in conditioning and systems, as well as exposure to the Flames’ culture and expectations.”
On-ice sessions will run three times daily—beginning at 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 1:15 p.m.—with players divided into six rotating groups. All sessions are open to the public, and fans are encouraged to attend and watch from the stands.
