Kobbie Mainoo’s future at Manchester United has become the subject of speculation as Chelsea expresses interest in the 20-year-old midfielder. Mainoo, who made his senior debut for United in 2023, quickly became a key player under Erik ten Hag. His rise earned him a spot in England’s squad for Euro 2024, but things have taken a turn since the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim in November.
Under Amorim, United endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign, finishing 15th with just 11 wins from 38 matches. Mainoo struggled with fitness and form, starting only four of the team’s final 15 league games.
Now, with Amorim expected to revamp the squad this summer, Mainoo could be one of the players on the move. Reports suggest that Chelsea are preparing a bid, and Manchester United may consider to sell him to raise funds for new signings.
