Post-Match Reaction

Head Coach Eric Quill

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Quill noted the emotional nature of the night:
“I’m really happy for our supporters. We’ve let them down at home too often this season, and we’ve been focused on changing that. I saw a turning point in our last match in San Jose—there was honesty, communication, and real togetherness.

With everything that’s happened recently in Central Texas, this night was about more than football. I told the guys, give your heart and soul for two hours and let the result take care of itself. They did just that. We stayed organized, especially on set pieces, and worked relentlessly in tough conditions.

St. Louis has quality, and they don’t give up much. But our players ran hard all game, tracked well, and defended with intensity. I’m proud of the clean sheet and the character we showed.”

Quill also touched on his personal growth through the season:

“This league stretches you. Managing at this level comes with all sorts of challenges. I’ve taken some hard lessons but never stopped believing in solutions. When you lose four in a row, it’s easy to doubt—but I’ve kept faith in this project. We’re building toward something bigger, and I know we’re moving in the right direction.”

Discussing tactics, Quill shared insight into the formation:
“We stuck with a back five again, like we used in San Jose.

That said, tactics only go so far. What really matters is the players, their effort, concentration, and desire. Tonight, all 11 were committed. That’s how you get results.”

Midfielder Ramiro
Speaking after the match, Ramiro emphasized the importance of breaking the home drought:
“It had been months since we gave our fans a win here. Tonight, we played for them and for the badge. Everyone gave everything, and we’re thrilled to take the three points.”

On the formation switch:
“With more numbers at the back, we’ve become harder to break down. That helps us control games and gives us a better chance to win. Now, it’s about keeping the momentum going.”

Defender Shaq Moore
Moore expressed joy at finally winning in front of the home crowd:
“It feels amazing. We’ve been waiting for this moment, and it’s satisfying to see the work pay off.

Even last match, we showed signs of progress. This time, we kept a clean sheet and limited their chances. That’s something to build on.”

Forward Petar Musa
Musa, who scored twice, was pleased with the win more than the personal accolades:
“Of course, it’s great to score goals, but what matters most is helping the team win. We hadn’t played to our full potential recently, but tonight we showed what we’re capable of.”

When asked about consistency, Musa added:

“We approach every match intending to win. Sometimes it doesn’t go our way, but today we delivered for the fans. They deserve performances like this, and we’ll keep working to give them more, both here and on the road.”
