Barcelona are in the final stages of completing a move for highly-rated FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji.
The 19-year-old Swedish youth international is nearing a return to full fitness after a long spell out with injury. Despite the setback, the Catalan giants remain keen to land one of Europe’s most promising young players.
Bardghji missed most of the 2024/25 season due to an ACL injury, following a standout campaign in 2023/24 that put him firmly on the radar of top clubs across Europe.
Barcelona are finalizing the details of the transfer and are aiming to secure the deal quickly before other clubs can make a late approach.
Bargain Deal Could Seal Bardghji’s Move
The main reason for Barcelona’s urgency is the affordable fee attached to Bardghji’s name. With his current contract expiring in December, the Danish club are willing to let him go for a modest sum.
Reports suggest the deal will cost around €2.5 million and include a 15% sell-on clause. According to Footmercato, FC Porto have already submitted a similar bid, but Bardghji is reportedly leaning toward a move to Spain, having been a longtime admirer of Barcelona.
That preference could prove decisive as new head coach Hansi Flick looks to lock in his preseason squad.
Flick Eyes Bardghji for Japan Tour
Mundo Deportivo reports that Flick wants Bardghji on board before Barcelona depart for Japan later this month as part of their preseason tour.
The coaching staff will assess the youngster’s sharpness during friendly games, with Flick keeping an open mind about his role for the upcoming campaign.
There are two clear options: if Bardghji impresses, he could be integrated into the first-team setup for the 2025/26 season. However, if he needs more time to regain full match fitness, Barcelona may send him back on loan to FC Copenhagen to continue his development in familiar surroundings.
