Kosta Nedeljkovic will continue his development in the Bundesliga after Aston Villa and RB Leipzig agreed to a fresh loan deal for the Serbian right-back. Although Leipzig chose not to trigger the initial purchase clause in his first loan stint, both clubs have now reached terms on a new agreement that will keep the 19-year-old in Germany for the entire upcoming season.
According to Sport Bild, the renewed loan includes a purchase option, though the publication has not confirmed whether it matches the €12 million clause from the previous deal. Nedeljkovic, who has already earned seven senior caps for Serbia, currently holds an estimated market value of around €10 million.
Last season, Nedeljkovic featured in ten Bundesliga matches and made one appearance in the DFB-Pokal. As the new season approaches, he is expected to challenge Ridle Baku for minutes, especially while Benjamin Henrichs recovers from injury. The Serbian defender, who came through the Red Star Belgrade academy, is being positioned as a rotational option on the right side of Leipzig’s backline.
“Kosta quickly settled in at RB Leipzig after his arrival in the winter and impressively demonstrated his abilities on the pitch,” said Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer in an official statement. “He combines dynamism, game intelligence, and the will to continuously develop. We see great potential in him.”
Reflecting on his time in Leipzig so far, Nedeljkovic said: “I’ve been able to develop well over the last few months. That’s why I’m really motivated to give everything to help us achieve our goals together in the new season. I’m delighted to be back and will hit the ground running.”
